About The Team

This year was the first season racing for Blackpepper. It's been an action packed one, with a rapid improvement over the 6 race summer series, almost braking into the top 3 in the final round at Piha.

Managing to keep the boat upright for the entire surf cross series and taking out the rookie title was definitely a hightlight, but flipping 5km from the finish of the 180km King of the Cape surf haul would have to be the lowlight of the season (mind you, we did have the wife in the bow).

The boat is a brand new Ceasar F8 powered by a DC racing built yamaha engine.

Driver / Scott Radley
Scott is an ex-pro windsurfer who represented New Zealand in Olympic Class racing. This is his first season racing Thundercats.
Co-Driver / Dave Hamilton
Dave is normally co-pilot for the Monsoon boat, but was snapped up quickly when a co-pilot was needed to take on the Aussies. This is Dave's first season Thundercat racing, he showed his skill level when he teamed up with Neil from Space Ships for the grueling King of the Cape surf haul race finishing 2nd over all.
